Welcome to the reboot of my personal weblog.

When the social networks came of age, I saw less reason to have a personal blog. You reach more people through a Facebook page and have a whole existing structure to post pictures, share links and protect this information from your enemies ;-)

Facebook also has it’s limitations. It’s typical audience is friends and family. Some people try to use it for networking, others are afraid to add personal info because they added their boss or business partner. I believe they miss the point of a social network as FB.

But that was not really the point I wanted to make. There are things I would like to share with the rest of the world, with people that are total strangers to me.

Hence this new blog.

I choose Tumblr as engine since it is so easy to use, I don’t want to loose too much time trying to design the perfect layout or add all kinds of integration, like RSS, Twitter, …

I also believe a blog should have a specific subject. The world has changed. It’s no longer about me and sharing every thought that pops up in my mind. We now have FB and Twitter for that. The number of people that are really interested in your every thought will probably limit itself to some friends and some family members.

But I do like to read blogs from total strangers when I know they write about a specific topics I like. 

This site will be focused on my new hobby. Which I will talk about in my next post :-)
